The auction offers a singular preference of Art Noveau and 20th century humanities and crafts objects. The name that stands out is that of Joseph Hoffmann, one of a many distinguished proponents of Austrian art. The sale will underline several examples of his well-developed creativity as good as a far-reaching operation of other duration objects. Top lots of this sale are:

*Josef Hoffmann, a four-piece tea service, designed in 1920, executed by a Wiener Werkstätte, beaten and chased silver, forged ivory handles and finials, comprised of teapot, divert jug, sugarine bowls and oval tray. Estimate: € 45,000-€ 50,000 (US$ 48,000-US$ 53,000)

* Josef Hoffmann, a runner from a vital room of a Primavesi family nation residence in Winkelsdorf, designed in 1914, executed by Johann Backhausen Söhne, Vienna, dappled wool, hand-knotted, restorations. Estimate: € 40,000 – € 80,000 (US$ 42,500 – US$ 85,000)

* Josef Hoffmann, a jardinière, designed in 1910, executed by a Wiener Werkstätte, silver, with gilt interior, lapis lazuli, quatrefoil oval figure with stylized floral molded decoration. Estimate: € 25,000 – € 30,000 (US$ 26,500 – US$ 32,000)

* An overlaid and etched “Magnolias” potion vase by Daum, Nancy c. 1900, martelé transparent glass, violet, purple, blue and orange emblem with magnolias. Estimate: € 20,000 – € 26,000 (US$ 21,500 – US$ 28,000)

* Josef Hoffmann, a seating machine, designed in 1906, executed by J. J. Kohn, Vienna, beechwood, stained to copy dim mahogany, steel rod, tractable rest, restored, chair stuffing re-upholstered. Estimate: € 20,000 – € 30,000 (US$ 21,500 – US$ 32,000)

*Josef Hoffmann, a three-piece tea service, designed in 1918, executed by a Wiener Werkstätte, beaten silver, forged ivory handles and finials, bulbous rosette-shaped physique with gadrooned covers, comprised of teapot, sugarine play and creamer. Estimate: € 20,000 – € 30,000 (US$ 21,500 – US$ 32,000)

 * A list flare “Loie Fuller”, designed c. 1900, executed by Siot-Decauville, Paris, gilt bronze, propitious for dual lights, François-Raoul Larche (St. André-de-Cubzac 1860-1912 Paris). Estimate: € 20,000 – € 28,000 (US$ 21,500 – US$ 30,000)

* Georg Jensen, a 206-piece “Beaded” settlement cutlery set in a wooden box, designed in 1916, executed by Georg Jensen, Copenhagen, partly c. 1926/27, silver. Estimate: € 15,000 – € 25,000 (US$ 16,000 – US$ 26,500)

* Josef Hoffmann, a teapot, designed in 1905, executed by a Wiener Werkstätte, silver, rosewood handles and finials, well-spoken oval shape. Estimate: € 15,000 – € 20,000 (US$ 16,000 – US$ 21,500)

* A set of twelve cream spoons with portion ladle in strange case, designed in 1901/02, executed by M. J. Rückert, Mainz, silver, gilt ladle bowls, supposed “Wertheim pattern”, all pieces hallmarked with master’s mark, Peter Behrens (1868-1940). Estimate: € 12,000 – € 15,000 (US$ 13,000 – US$ 16,000)
