snøhetta designs initial flare collection for ateljé lykta

snøhetta has designed a really initial lamp collection, ‘flik flak’, in partnership with a swedish lighting company, ateljé lyktan. a collection comprises a wall-mounted lamp, a list flare and a building lamp, with all 3 lamps launched and exhibited during a 2018 stockholm seat and light fair.

made from dual wooden pieces of birch veneer, ateljé lykta‘s ‘flik slam lamps’ are discreetly hold together by a piano hinge. this stretchable pattern allows a folds of a pieces to be non-stop and sealed in a 180-degree angle. it delicately orchestrates a light to fit any room or environment in a non-intrusive, witty and artistic manner. designed by snøhetta, this witty impression reflects a old-school lamps of a childhood table or a breakneck stunts of a trapeze acrobat. a collection serve sum on particular contrasts between light and dark, inside and outside.

launched during a 2018 stockholm seat and light fair, while a wooden extraneous aspect of a ‘flik flak’ collection is treated with black caricature in sequence to simulate a thought of darkness, their wooden bulb have kept a natural, light colour, regulating dimmable LED strips to disband a warmth. echoing a healthy materiality of scandinavian nature, a pleasing qualities of a designs are emphasized by a counterfeit birch veneer.
